Tutorial

My tutorial  taught me how to create brushes and patterns. The background was originally black dots, so I edited the pattern and made them white and more opaque. The rope at the bottom I made by making slanted ovals and fraying the ends. I learned that adding shadows to the text creates a really cool look. I really like the way this turned out. The anchor was really easy to make and I think it looks really cool. This tutorial was kind of hard. Making the brushes and patterns was kind of frustrating, but I think the finished project was worth it. I think the coolest part is the texture in the background, it adds dimension and looks really good.I want to learn how to make other types of brushes and edit the type face. The only thing I would do differently would be the banner in the middle. I would probably soften up the edges a little bit, or make it a different shape, but I really like how it looks like it is waving.I think I did really well on this whole project.

Google Logo

The Google Logo went though a lot of changes. "There were a lot of different color iterations", says Ruth Kedar, the graphic designer who developed the now-famous logo. "We ended up with the primary colors, but instead of having the pattern go in order, we put a secondary color on the L, which brought back the idea that Google doesn't follow the rules." The company Google was originally named Back Rub and was then named after the number googol. Google is a very whimsical company and has many Google doodles that appear on the website in place of the original Logo. I think the google doodles are really cool and really prove how whimsical Google is.

The Chase

The Chase was a really fun video. I learned how to make the shots more continuous, and how to make the film have a beginning, middle and end. I will apply both of those things to the next project. I also continued to get more comfortable with Final Cut Pro.  The next project I do I will try to get a variety of shots in the same spot, so when I edit, I will have more options.

The collaboration in this project was different, because there were more people in our group, and we all had different ideas. Our group did a really good job with combining all of our ideas to make a really good video.  In the next project I think it would be better if we made more of the changes before we started filming, or while we where making the story board. I felt like we were making it up on the spot because we kept changing how we filmed each shot, the story stayed the same though. I think the next project will be even better than this one, because of all the things everybody is learning about filming, and working together.

Anatomy of Typography

When I took the font quiz I got Cooper Black. I really like this font and I think it is a lot like me. It is emotional, Assertive, progressive, and relaxed. I really like how it has serifs, but it is more fun and creative than a regular serif.

I took a second quiz and I got Helvetica. I like helvetica because it looks really clean, and is really easy to read. I think that Cooper Black represents me better, because Helvetica is a little boring, but I still like it a lot better than Times New Roman.

I chose to do my anatomy of typography in Cooper Black. I really like the way may name looks in this font. It is fun, but still professional. I think it really represents me, because I like to have fun, but I am serious when I need to be. It is also really relaxed, I am almost always calm, and it take a lot to make me angry. I love to relax and hang out with friends.

Tanner Playing Basketball

2nd 6 Shot Sequence

During this project I learned how to create a better story board, and import sound into Final Cut Pro. I also learned how to make shots more continuous and make sure all the shots are natural. I got more comfortable editing win Final Cut Pro, and inserted music and sound effects into my video for the first time.
I will remember to always use a tripod, make sure all my shots are continuous, and none of them are unnatural. For my next project, I will try to make my shots more natural and more continuous. I will also be able to use my knowledge of Final Cut Pro on future projects.
Collaboration is working with others to make a project or achieve a goal. I worked with Tanner a lot on this project, he gave me some ideas for my video, and he did everything I asked him to do really well. I had to collaborate with Tanner in order to make this video, without him I wouldn't have been able to complete a good story, and I don't think he would have either.
